How it works
1
Add one line, or connect GA4
Paste the cookieless snippet, install the WordPress plugin, or connect a GA4 property read-only. Same dashboard either way.
2
Numative watches your site
It records when every page went live, snapshots content, diffs each change, and pulls in backlinks, rankings, Core Web Vitals and Google updates.
3
Movements come explained
Traffic shifts show up next to what changed at the same time. Anomalies arrive with candidate causes instead of a bare percentage.
01Change detection
Every change to your site, on the record.
Three detection layers keep the record complete. The tracking snippet fingerprints each page as visitors load it, so edits surface on the first visit after they happen. The WordPress plugin and the ping API report publishes and updates at the exact second. A scheduled crawler and hourly sitemap polling catch everything else, including new and removed pages.
Each change is diffed against the last snapshot: title, meta description, headings, word count and structured data. You see what changed, not just that something did. Add your own annotations for deploys and campaigns.

02Anomalies and attribution
Know what moved, and what likely caused it.
Numative ranks every page by week-over-week movement, weighted by volume so a 200% jump on 10 visits does not outrank a 30% drop on 10,000. The biggest mover is called out on your overview.
Each anomaly comes with candidate causes pulled from the same timeline: a detected edit, a backlink day, a confirmed Google update, a referral spike. You stop reverse-engineering your own site history.

03Page lifecycle
Every page tracked from the day it went live.
Numative records a launch date for every page and measures its first days against your site's median launch. New content that underperforms shows up while you can still fix it; overperformers tell you what to write more of.
| Page | Launched | Visitors | First 14 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| /blog/schema-markup-guide | Jun 8 | 486 | +118% vs site median |
| /blog/crux-field-data | May 27 | 1,042 | +64% vs site median |
| /blog/utm-naming | May 12 | 88 | -71% vs site median |
04Content decay
Catch pages fading before the traffic is gone.
A weekly job compares each page's best 28 days against its current 28 days, adjusted for your site-wide trend so a seasonal dip does not flag everything at once. Decaying pages come with a diagnosis, and when you refresh one, Numative tracks whether the refresh worked.
- /blog/ga4-migration-checklist-63%
Peak 2,410 visits per 28 days, now 890. Site-adjusted.
- /docs/legacy-import-54%
Peak 1,120 visits per 28 days, now 512. Site-adjusted.
- /blog/core-web-vitals-2024-41%
Peak 3,205 visits per 28 days, now 1,890. Site-adjusted.
05Spike hunter
A spike happened. Numative finds the exact thread.
When a referrer jumps to several times its normal level, Numative hunts down the specific source: the Hacker News post, the Reddit thread, the YouTube video, the X post. The source is pinned to your chart, so next year you still know what that peak was.

07Bots and AI crawlers
See which AI models are reading your site.
JavaScript trackers cannot see crawlers. Numative captures them server-side through the WordPress plugin or an edge worker: GPTBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot, Google-Extended and dozens more, verified by source IP and kept out of your traffic numbers and your event quota.

08Privacy and setup
Cookieless by default. GA4 if you want it.
The Numative tracker sets no cookies and stores no persistent identifiers. Sessions use a short-lived id in the visitor's own browser that rotates after 30 minutes. Visitors can opt out, and localhost traffic is ignored automatically.
Already invested in Google Analytics? Connect a GA4 property read-only instead and get the same dashboard, anomaly detection and change timeline over your existing data. Tokens are encrypted at rest.

10FAQ
Common questions
Do I need a credit card to start?
No. Signing up starts a 14-day trial of the full product with no card on file. When the trial ends you pick a plan; if you do not, the account locks but your data stays viewable until you subscribe.
Is the tracker really cookieless?
Yes. The snippet sets no cookies and stores no persistent identifiers. Sessions use a short-lived id kept in the visitor's own sessionStorage that rotates after 30 minutes of inactivity. Many teams run it without a consent banner; confirm the requirements for your jurisdiction with your own counsel.
Can I keep using Google Analytics?
Yes. Numative works in two modes: connect a GA4 property read-only and get the same dashboard over your existing data, or install the Numative snippet and track independently. You can run both on different sites in one account.
Which features need the Numative snippet?
Funnels, goals, paths, behavior flow, custom properties, revenue and data imports need event-level data, so they are available on sites using the Numative tracker. Change detection, anomalies, rankings, backlinks, Search Console and Core Web Vitals work with either mode.
What counts as an event?
A pageview or a custom event sent by the tracker. Bot and AI crawler hits captured server-side and page-change fingerprints are recorded outside your event quota.
Can I import my existing data?
Yes. You can import aggregate history from Plausible, Fathom or GA4 exports, plus Numative JSON and event-level CSV. Imports are tagged and reversible.
How long is my data kept?
Forever, on every plan. Numative never deletes analytics data by age.
